To properly refill your torch lighter with butane, it's crucial to follow these steps for optimal performance. Start by selecting the right butane canister with a long stem, as a short stem can be ineffective. We recommend using ZIPPO or RONSON butane canisters for the best results.

Ensure to bleed air from the tank before refilling. This step involves releasing all tank pressure by pressing the refill inlet valve with a small screwdriver until no hissing sound is heard. Air inside the fuel tank can cause malfunctions, so it's essential to remove it before refilling.

Next, set the flame height adjustment to prevent unexpectedly high flames. Turn the flame height adjuster on the bottom of the lighter to the lowest setting by turning the flame adjustment knob clockwise. This will help regulate the flame height after refilling.

When filling the tank with butane, hold the lighter and butane can in a vertical upside-down position. Align the nozzle on the butane can with the refill inlet valve on the torch and press the stem of the butane can into the valve in 5-second bursts. Repeat as needed in 5-second intervals until the tank is filled.

It's important to keep the torch inverted to avoid injecting air into the tank and ensure proper alignment between the refill inlet valve and the nozzle on the butane can to avoid gas leakage. After refilling, wait 3-4 minutes before igniting the lighter to allow excess butane to evaporate.
